the STORY behind my creations / the TASSELS JACKET

in Budapest, Hungary

People often ask me how and why I started sewing, who taught me and more frequently, how I decided to make jackets.

I barely answer - and that's not because I don't know the answer or I keep it secret; but simply because from where I stand, it all went by so naturally that I don't see it like something I have to explain.

In any case, I must outline my earliest ideas, mostly because I would like you to see why I find making these jackets so special.

Firstly, if I were to have a motto, it would certainly be "if you want to start something, just start doing it". I also had some crafty genes to help me; and I also study architecture (which, by the way, is the key to all my problems: I leaned how to finish a project in less than 2 hours, how to work half asleep and how to organize my timetable so I have time to eat as well!).

So, there I was, having plenty of ideas, not so much spare time but a desire to start doing something that I could call my own.

In the beginning I started sewing for myself: dresses and other stuff; and I was happy I could wear something you can't find in a shop. Then some people started to like it, which lead to the next step: sewing something that I could eventually sell. I started taking part in pop-up stores and I was somehow satisfied with my achievements. It took a while to realize that something was missing, that I was not doing something I was 100% content of.

I decided it's time I had organized my thoughts. I made a lot of lists: what kind of people I want to create something for, what main feature my creations should have etc, and then an idea came to my mind.

What basically started all that I do today is the decision to highlight the great fact that people are different. I admire uniqueness in people, and I also love sewing, but somehow it took me a while to mix them both.

The jackets that I create have a classic design, but they differ in patterns, ornaments and overall styles, to match perfectly with every single personality. I love creating them because it gives me freedom to express my ideas, and I can't help but trying to develop them day by day.
